37 commas

Yup, 37 commas in one sentence, and all correctly used. Visit Sesquiotica, a blog for word-lovers. Clever writing by an editor colleague, James Harbeck.

Here's the 37-comma sentence:

Stressed out? Then HUM!

The 7 fellas who hung with Snow White recommended "whistle while you work". Well now it's all about humming!

A tip from http://www.realage.com//ct/tips/7552
"Stressed out because you've got too much to do and too little time to do it? Dr. Amy Wechsler has a quick tip to help you make it through without getting fried.

"Hum. Yep, literally. Humming has been scientifically proved to boost nitric oxide (NO), a nifty little body gas that, in small doses, has a stress-reducing effect.

"Whistle -- Uh, Hum -- While You Work
"All of us produce NO in our respiratory tract, according to Wechsler. But it's produced most notably in the sinuses. Humming affects the airflow between the sinuses and the nasal cavity in a way that creates more NO, a gas that promotes wound healing, new collagen formation, and better blood flow in the skin. Seems those seven dwarves were nearly onto something -- if they'd just tweaked their music-making advice a little."
Here's my snowy rose, who is humming away, adapting to its snowy blanket.

Addictive frustration

I wish I could get myself off this computer today and get into my art workshop. Sigh.... here I go.... I really am going this time.... in a minnit.... going.... truly!

What am I? A compu-dict? Addi-nerd? Compu-nerdict? What are we? You are too, just admit it.

OK, here's a painting of mine from another day I managed to make it, get off the computer.....

TAG! You're IT!

I just got an answer back from Garry at Posterous (like 45 seconds after sending my mail query to the help address!) about how to add a tag to my posts right from the email I'm using to compose/send to my blog. Thanks, Garry! Gonna quote you in green so others will know:

Just type this in the subject line at the end:
((tag: alpha, beta, gamma))
And it will be automatically added.
You can do this through the web interface too when you edit the post.

44 morphs with Ravel: 2nd try

This time I'm adding a video but posting via email rather than directly. Let's see if this works.
Yay, now I know how to get videos here. Posterous Help, um, helped. :P
"Q: What do you do when I attach a video file to an email?.... A: We will transcode your video so that you can see the it in a flash player right there in your browser. We'll host the file too, so you don't have to do any work at all. Posterous is THE easiest way to post a video online using email."

Hey, when you watch the ending, watch Bush's mouth change into Obama's mouth. Tightness to openess, hoo-ah!

Obama's "verbal tic"

Hilarious. Read what Andy Borowitz says in the Huffington Post about "the president-elect's unorthodox verbal tic, which had Mr. Obama employing grammatically correct sentences virtually every time he opened his mouth."

Page 56

Rules:
* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence along with these instructions in a note to your wall.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
--------
Mine:
"Since versus because: Since is more precise when it is used to refer only to time (to mean "after that"); otherwise, replace with because."
